πŸŽ“ **Expanding Tertiary Education for Papua New Guinea’s Future** πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬

Each year, thousands of talented and ambitious Grade 12 students in Papua New Guinea face a harsh reality: **limited university spaces** and a growing demand for higher education. In 2025 alone, only 12,352 out of 31,252 students who sat for the Upper Secondary School Certificate Examinations will secure tertiary placements. That means **over 60% of our youth will miss out on furthering their education.**

This number is expected to increase by **5% annually**, leaving even more young Papua New Guineans without access to higher education. These statistics highlight an urgent need for **action and reform**.

πŸ”‘ **What’s the solution?**

To build a brighter future for PNG, we must:

✅ **Expand Tertiary Education Spaces**: Invest in new universities, technical colleges, and vocational training institutions across the country.

✅ **Policy Reform**: Implement government policies that prioritize creating opportunities for all students to access higher education.

✅ **Flexible Learning Models**: Encourage alternative pathways, such as online programs and blended learning, to accommodate more students.

✅ **Partnerships**: Foster collaboration between the government, private sector, and development partners to fund and support education infrastructure.

Education is the key to unlocking PNG’s potential. When we empower our youth with access to **quality education**, we create a foundation for **economic growth, innovation, and national development.** No young Papua New Guinean should be denied the chance to achieve their dreams due to limited opportunities.

🌟 It’s time for us, as a nation, to recognize that **education is not a privilege—it’s a right.** Let’s call on our leaders to take bold steps to ensure every student has a chance to succeed, contribute, and lead.

What steps can we take together to advocate for a better future for our young people? Let’s work towards an **inclusive education system** that leaves no one behind.
